Glebe Townland, Killucan Medieval Baptismal Font What an incredibly beautiful romanesque font. As soon as I saw images of this baptismal font, the thirteenth century font at Carrick- on-Bannow in County Wexford came to mind. Like the Bannow font this one is also dated to the 13th century and bears an elaborate carving of a fleur-de-lis. The font was uncovered on the site of St Etchen's Church sometime in the 19th century. Next to the present 19th century church are the ruins of a 15th century church, so the font probably belonged to an even earlier church. At the present time this magnificent font is sitting on a 19th century pedestal.
